Abbotsford is the largest city in the Fraser Valley and the primary agricultural hub of the region. One point that often surprises homeowners: mold does not go away on its own, and painting over it or applying bleach to crawlspace framing does not constitute proper remediation. Bleach is largely ineffective on porous wood because its active chlorine dissipates before penetrating the surface, leaving the root structure of the mold intact. Proper remediation requires physical removal of the colonized material combined with a professional-grade biocide or encapsulant rated for crawlspace use.
